Third Anniversary for Weekly Event

On Saturday, February 23, 2008, Colorado Citizens for Peace will commemorate the 3rd anniversary of their on going peace vigil.
The vigil meets every Saturday at noon at the intersections of W. 52nd Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada, Colorado.
For this commemoration the peace vigil will meet at its usual location from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. -- then participants will gather at the home of Kathy and Radon Tolman where keynote speakers will address a number of vital issues as they relate to the Iraq War. The Tolman home is located at 4735 Reed Street in Wheat Ridge.
At the W. 52nd Avenue and Wadsworth event at noon, scarlet armbands will be handed out to every person attending to remind them of the needless bloodshed of the U.S. military occupation of Iraq and the often forgotten war in Afghanistan. 'Veterans for Peace' will also be in attendance.

The general public is invited to attend this anniversary at the peace vigil corner and/or to hear the speakers at the Tolman's house starting at about 1:30 P.M. Music will be provided by Scott Zuluaf and Kevin Alumbach from the noteable power funk band Egg Planet.
Special speakers include Jared Polis, Democrat candidate for Congress-CD 2; Robert Kinsey, Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate, a retired United Church of Christ clergyman and representative to the National Alliance for Nuclear Accountability; Cliff West of the Impeach Colorado movement; Herb Rubenstein, Chief Operating Officers of iCast, the International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technologies and a candidate for US Congress in 2006; and Radon Tolman, P.E., President of Environmental Energy Systems Incorporated.
