On Saturday, December 19, 2009, Scott Foreman and Cindy Lowry joined the Vail Valley Citizens for Peace at the 10th Mountain Soldier and Covered Bridge for a Holiday Peace Vigil.We had a wonderful time. Passersby took the time to read our signs carefully and we received no negative responses. There were about 12 participants that day who included Dr. Paul Milloy and family, a few friends, and Scott and myself.
When the vigil was done we walked through the main part of Vail. After that, we went to Dr. Paul Milloy's home and enjoyed a warm cup of hot tea and the view from Matterhorn Circle on the West side of Vail.
We have been invited back to stay at his home later on this year. We can also experience skiing if we have the time. Just something to think about in regards to future planning.
As a post note -- this event made the local newspaper. Hopefully, we can get a few copies of our scrapbook.
As a final word in closing, this was the Christmas that whenever the words were sung about "peace" I couldn't hold back the tears. I hope your Christmas and New Year's holidays were great.
